The Company

Freediving London, founded in 2023 by the passionate and experienced freediver Stefan Ruiz, has rapidly established itself as a premier destination for freediving enthusiasts.

Freediving London provides an exciting and safe freediving experience for everyone, from beginners to advanced divers.

Our courses are designed to equip you with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to explore the underwater world in a whole new way and we believe that Freediving education and training should be accessible to everyone, even if you do not live by the ocean.

Whether it’s your first breath-hold or you’re and advanced apneist, Freediving London is dedicated to guiding you through every step of your freediving journey.

Stefan Ruiz

Stefan has a background as a lifeguard, swimming instructor, stunt performer, actor, and cold water therapy practitioner.

His freediving career began when he was introduced to the magic of exploring the ocean on one breath by Sophie from Freediving Seychelles.

After completing his AIDA 1 – 4 with Freediving Seychelles, Stefan made the trip to Egypt in 2023 to train and become a fully qualified AIDA instructor with Dahab Freedivers.

On returning to the UK, Stefan launched Freediving London and shortly after brought Adam De La Mare, AIDA Master Instructor, on board to help run courses and training sessions due to the overwhelming amount of interest from Londoners wanting to learn about the sport.

Adam De La Mare

Adam De La Mare has been freediving since 2010, studying various aspects of the sport all over the world.

Equally keen on technical approaches to freediving as a competitive sport, adventure, and exploration as well opportunities for personal growth.

Adam brings a wide range of experience to his teaching. He is an AIDA Master Freediving Instructor, Balearic Champion, and has been a member of the GB Team.

Alison Chan

Alison started freediving in 2010.
She is based in the UK and is accustomed to training in the deep and dark waters of our lakes and pools!

In 2021 Alison co-founded Apnea UK, which aims to foster and expand the freediving community in the UK.
Alison has a strong passion for supporting all aspects of freediving, from beginners fostering their newfound connection with water to experienced competitive divers.

Excited to bring her wealth of experience, Alison looks forward to embarking on teaching opportunities alongside Freediving London!

Hiba ismail

Hiba discovered the world of freediving in the Red Sea.

The divers she met at Charisma Diving Center, a community of now lifelong friends, introduced her to the waters of her hometown in Port Sudan.

Hiba continued exploring freedivings potential for personal growth on the Egyptian coast.

As an Assistant Instructor, Hiba is focused on fostering a supportive learning environment where students can develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge to safely achieve their own freediving goals.
