Club-Style Training Sessions Terms and Conditions
Applies to all participants attending self-led or club-style pool training sessions.

Mandatory before attending
Required action & Pre-attendance compliance:
Participants must read the Safety Standards and Guidelines document, complete the online version of that document, provide a copy of their AIDA 2 Pool (or equivalent) certification level, provide a copy of their personal injury & third-party liability insurance, and pass the attached quiz before attending any session. Attendance is not permitted until these steps are finished.

1. Acceptance of these terms
By booking, attending, or taking part in any Freediving London club-style training session, the participant agrees to follow these terms and conditions, the venue rules, and all instructions given by the session leader or designated safety instructor.

2. Pre-session requirements
The participant must read the current Safety Standards and Guidelines document in full before attending.
The participant must complete the online form version of the Safety Standards and Guidelines, including the quiz, and submit it successfully before the first session.
The participant must provide any additional information requested by Freediving London, including medical declarations, insurance confirmation, or other safety-related information.
Freediving London may refuse attendance where the required pre-session steps have not been completed.

3. Medical fitness, honesty, and insurance
The participant confirms they are medically fit to freedive and will disclose any injury, illness, medication, or other condition that may affect breath-hold training or safety.
If any medical conditions are highlighted on the AIDA medical statement then the participant must obtain clearance and a signature from their GP, on the form, before attending.
The participant confirms they hold their own appropriate freediving insurance covering personal injury and third-party liability.
The participant must not attend under the influence of alcohol, recreational drugs, or anything else that could impair judgement, coordination, or recovery.

4. Training limits and participant responsibility
Participants must train only within their current certification level, experience, and comfort zone.
Participants must not use a club-style session to chase personal bests or to attempt drills beyond their qualification level.
Participants are responsible for self-assessing honestly and stopping immediately if they feel uncertain, fatigued, unwell, or outside safe limits.

5. Buddy system and supervision
No breath-hold attempt may be conducted alone.
Every active diver must have a dedicated, alert safety buddy or designated safety freediver.
The safety buddy must remain attentive, on the surface, breathing normally, and ready to assist immediately.
A diver must be monitored from submergence until at least one minute after surfacing and returning to normal breathing.
Where an odd number of participants are present, a group of three must rotate clearly between active diver, safety buddy, and resting diver.
Static apnea may only be performed with dedicated supervision for each diver; no one may be left without a safety buddy.

6. Pool etiquette and conduct
Participants must be quiet, punctual, and respectful of other pool users, staff, and venue rules.
Kit must be kept tidy and movement must be controlled to reduce the risk of distraction, collision, or interference with other users.
Unsafe behaviour must not be encouraged, copied, mocked, or normalised.
Any sign of hypoxic stress, distress, poor concentration, or unusual behaviour must be taken seriously and the diver must stop for the day.

7. In-water safety and emergency response
Static apnea and dynamic apnea must be supervised using agreed signals and rescue procedures.
For dynamic work, the safety buddy must stay close at the surface, remain able to intervene immediately, and use the equipment required by the session plan.
If a blackout or loss of motor control occurs, all breath-hold activity must stop immediately until the situation is fully resolved.
Anyone who experiences blackout or loss of motor control must not continue breath-hold work that day.

The safety buddy must support the diver, keep the airway clear of water, escort the diver to poolside, and notify the instructor immediately.
Any incident, near miss, or concerning symptom must be reported to Freediving London management and handled in line with venue emergency procedures.

8. Instructor authority and removal from session
The session leader and designated safety instructor have authority to pause, modify, or stop any activity for safety reasons. Participants who ignore the standards, refuse instructions, or behave in a way that compromises safety may be asked to leave the session and may be refused future attendance.

9. Acknowledgement
By attending a Freediving London club-style training session, the participant confirms that they have read and understood these terms, completed the required online safety form and quiz, will train within their limits, will comply with all safety instructions, and will stop immediately if safety becomes uncertain.le to ensure the success and satisfaction of our clients.
