To enrol in the AIDA 1 Introduction to freediving course, an individual must:
- Be 18 years of age or older (16 or 17 years with parent or guardian consent)
- Be able to swim at least 100m non-stop
- Have completed the AIDA Medical Form
- Have completed the Liability Release

THEORY SESSION (Morning- 2 hours)

PRACTICAL/POOL SESSION (Afternoon 2-3 hours)
- Breath hold exercises (Static Apnea in buddy pairs)
- Relation breathing phase
- One full breath practice
- Duck dive practice
- Intro to Free Immersion
- Buddying and safety
- Surface rescues from black outs and LMCs
- Finning technique (if time)
If you are taking an AIDA 1 at the London School of Diving venue in Chertsey, you will begin in the 1.5m deep pool for statics apnea and rescues, then you move to the 4m deep dive pool for line training.
If you are taking an AIDA 1 at Park Road Leisure Centre in Crouch End, the whole afternoon session will be taking place in the 3.6m deep diving pool.

We strongly advise you to bring your own wetsuit, mask and snorkel (if you have them) to ensure a good fit and comfort.
