Join us at the Go Diving Show on the 28th Feb and the 1st of March.
We will be running a dry, guided breathing + freediving simulation experience with an optional brief breath hold.
In these workshops you will be introduced to the freediving breathing cycle, you’ll gain knowledge about freediving physiology and you’ll get to experience a guided dive simulation!
This workshop is designed for ages 16+, those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Those under 16 are able to join the experience & simulation but are not permitted to attempt the breath hold during the simulation.
(This is not a test or performance activity — there is no benefit to holding your breath for longer.)
This Freediving Breathing Experience & Simulation is conducted in a dry (land-based) environment. Participants will either be lying down on yoga mats or seated in chairs.
Risks:
We have designed this experience to be calm, low-intensity, and accessible. Participation in any breath-holding element is entirely optional, and you are encouraged to breathe normally at any point.
If you choose to pause your breathing, please be aware that breath-holding can carry health risks for some people. You should not hold your breath if you have any known medical condition that could make this unsafe, including (but not limited to):
- Epilepsy, seizures, or severe migraines
- Respiratory or pulmonary conditions (such as asthma, pneumothorax/collapsed lung, emphysema, or other chronic lung disease)
- A history of fainting or low blood pressure
- Pregnancy
- Any other medical condition that may affect your safety during breath-holding activities
By signing up to this experience, you acknowledge that you have been made aware of these risks and agree to take part only to a level that feels comfortable for you.
